Career Pathways

At the Adult Career Connection Center, we believe career success starts with readiness, not rushing. Our new Career Pathways Program uses a readiness-based model to help individuals identify the right next step based on their current circumstances, skills, goals, and employer requirements. In essence, the Career Pathways Program offers the right support at the right time through the following pathways:

Lane 1 - Stabilization & Exploration: Build stability, confidence, foundational skills, and career direction.

Lane 2 - Upskilling & Advancement: Build on existing experience to increase skills, responsibility, or income without starting over.

Lane 3 - True Career Change: For individuals ready to pursue a new career through targeted training, certifications, employer connections, and placement support.

How It Works:

Every participant begins with a Career Change Self-Evaluation. The Career Team reviews readiness, strengths, barriers, career goals, and employer requirements to determine the most appropriate pathway. As circumstances change, participants are reassessed and can move forward through the pathways. Movement is progress, not failure.

Why It Matters:

Our goal is simple, match the right service to the right moment. By focusing on readiness first, we help individuals make informed career decisions, reduce avoidable setbacks, build sustainable employment, and create pathways toward greater income and career growth. Your career journey doesn't have to be figured out all at once. We can help you determine the right next step.

Colleges, Technical Institutes & More...

The Adult Career Connection Center welcomes partnerships with colleges, vocational schools, and technical training institutes to prepare our clients for in-demand careers right here in our community. By working together with local agencies and workforce resources, we help individuals gain the skills and credentials they need to succeed. From industry certifications and safety training to specialized technical credentials, our goal is to connect education with opportunity empowering clients to confidently enter the workforce and build lasting careers. Let us collaborate to create pathways to employment and strengthen our local economy one career at a time.

Road & Bridge Institute: Building Skills for a Career in Transportation

Through a partnership with Front Range Community College and the Colorado Local Technical Assistance Program (CLTAP), the Adult Career Connection Center brought the Road & Bridge Institute’s intensive, three-week training program to Cripple Creek making valuable workforce training accessible to local residents and participants from neighboring communities. During the Spring 2026 session, participants completed training and earned certifications in:

  • Road Scholar 1

  • Flagger 1 Certification

  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification

  • OSHA 10

  • Road Safety Champion

These industry-relevant certifications provide essential safety knowledge and foundational skills for individuals pursuing entry-level employment in the Road & Bridge industry. By bringing this training directly to Cripple Creek, ACCC and its partners are helping participants build qualifications, explore career opportunities, and take meaningful steps toward employment in the transportation field.

Training that builds skills. Partnerships that create opportunity. Careers that move communities forward.
